Driving Question
How might we consider all students needs in the design process and still maintain focus on improving learning?
Designing the Ideal Classroom
This is where we started...
And, this is what we came up with...
*I asked student's to voluntarily sketch how they would design the classroom space (there was a bit of an extra credit incentive to participate).

The Road We've Taken
This journey toward a Classroom4TheFuture has been exhilarating, thought-provoking, challenging, inspiring, and rewarding.
Starting with some personal and professional wants and ideas...
...creating empathy for the most important people in this design - the students...
...defining some concrete problems these students face each day in the classroom...
...brainstorming ideas and solutions to their problems, and creating mood boards...
...prototypes, and sketches, this transformation has encompassed all areas of design thinking.
The big picture of this redesign is not just about furniture...
...it is about creating an environment that is conducive to the way students work, think, and learn.
It is changing as an instructor to best meet the needs of my students.
This journey is about taking time and opening my mind to see teaching and learning from the students point of view and being flexible and open to change. This journey toward a Classroom4TheFuture has been a perfect example of the learning process and a model for implementation.
The process has made all the difference.
